History

The Stork story in further processing begins at the end of the fifties at Machinefabriek Kruijer in Amsterdam. At that time the company had started manufacturing machines to make meat balls, known as Titan machines. 

When Machinefabriek Menzing in Haaksbergen took over a part of Kruijer´s products, the Titan machines were incorporated into Menzings´ range.

Titan International

At the beginning of the eighties the firm was taken over once more, this time by the Nijhuis brothers, who renamed it Titan International. A part of the production including its preparation was accommodated at Stork Nijhuis.

Stork had been active in the poultry processing industry for a number of years and realised that poultry processing does not stop with killing, evisceration and portioning. For this reason Titan International was taken over by Stork in 1988.

Move to Boxmeer

The takeover meant that all activities were transferred to Boxmeer. To make Stork Titan (the company´s new name) properly at home, work started quickly on building assembly facilities, offices, and a complete test kitchen. The assembly hall and test kitchen were officially commissioned in 1990.

The extension of manufacturing facilities also allowed Stork Titan to increase its range of products. This now consists of forming machines, coating systems, ovens, hot air tunnels and chilling and freezing equipment.

New developments

The new millennium has seen Stork´s further processing activities go through a further bout of expansion. To start with a completely updated DemoCenter was commissioned in 2000.

A surface area of 1100 m2 now accommodates all facilities necessary for demonstrating equipment, for carrying out tests and for proving both existing and new recipes. The taking over of a new office wing followed in 2002.

The latest development is the building of a new production hall, which was completed in the summer of 2003. Stork is clearly moving ahead! As of May 2005 Stork Titan presents itself as Stork Food Systems, just like sister companies Stork PMT and Stork Gamco.
