Successful Potato Event at Stork Food Systems

At the end of May 2007 Stork Food Systems organised a two-day Potato Event together with AlimeTec and FI&S for their worldwide customers in the potato processing industry. It was a great success.

Marinating fresh potato products
On the first day fresh potato products were marinated in Stork’s latest development, ValueDrum. Small potatoes and fresh cut potatoes were first blanched in the SpiralOven and then flavoured or covered with gratin in the ValueDrum. This process adds value to the potato products that eventually can be sold as fresh or frozen products.

Creating potato specialities without frying
The second and third day were used to show customers how to make tasty and healthy potato specialities without using a fryer. Stork’s revolutionary RevoFormer, batter and breading systems as well as the SpiralOven were demonstrated. Potato specialities like waffles and rösti were produced with very low oil content but with a fine taste. Customers could taste the end products for themselves.

Presentations and live demonstrations
Over seventy people from the most important potato processing companies all over the world joined the Potato Event. The customers were enthusiastic about the combination of presentations on the newest developments in the potato processing industry and seeing these developments real-time and tasting the end products themselves during the live demonstrations.

A social gathering with interesting discussions among participants and Stork Food Systems, AlimeTec and FI&S completed the successful Potato Event.
