Removes the Tail Feathers Effectively

Infeed guides position the birds and direct the tail feathers/quills into two helical pinions that are driven by an electrical or hydraulic motor. The machine is adjustable to accommodate various bird sizes.

The PIT-2000 should be preferably placed between between the scalder and the first picker.

Removes a very high percentage of the quills, allowing pickers to be run more loosely - reducing torn and loose skin. This leads to more A-Grade products, consistent moisture pickup in the chiller and more accurate results in sizing.

It also aids in the reduction of mechanical wear of pickers and finger usage.
